JOB DESCRIPTION

The Technical Site Services (TSS) Manager is a key role within the our client's Technology & Innovation division. This role will be accountable for the strategy, management and delivery of M&E activities across the Technical (Datacentre) and hub sites nationwide.

Primary focus of the role will be the management, delivery and distribution of power throughout these sites, as well as strategically planning the business' power usage and sustainability roadmap.

The TSS Manager will have responsibility for all T&I M&E platform management, including platform lifecycle management of the business' air-con, generator and plant infrastructure equipment, along with the management of alarming across this infrastructure. Coupled with this, the TSS Manager will work closely with M&E partners to ensure the successful delivery of tasks on time and on budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Management of all M&E Infrastructure across the Network.

  • Cooling
  • AC Power
  • DC Power
  • Back-up generators
  • Security & Access Control
  • Fire prevention systems.
  • Plant monitoring and building management systems

Design, build and operation of all Network critical infrastructure.

  • Capacity management on power systems, ESB loads and cooling requirements.
  • Air flow management.
  • Equipment location and power specifications.
  • Upgrading plant.
  • Design of systems to ensure full redundancy and best practice to ensure minimum downtime to critical network equipment.
  • Design, install and monitoring of plant alarms and building management systems.
  • Implement service improvement planning.
  • Audit sites and equipment regularly to ensure minimum standards are maintained in line with company policy.
  • Produce and maintain plant schematics and floorplans. 
  • Regular testing of critical systems.
  • Planning and execution of preventative maintenance program.
  • Responsible for reactive maintenance and emergency repair works.
  • On Call for all plant related faults.

Budget Management

  • Overall responsibility for LBFF M&E budgets.
  • Preparing and managing operational expense budgets.
  • Preparing multi year capital improvement projects.
  • Constantly working towards reducing spend across budget lines.
  • Implementing efficiency programs to reduce costs.
  • Contract management

Managing Relationships

  • Management of all M&E contractors and working with account managers to ensure all SLA’s and KPI’s are met.
  • Working with local Engineering teams to ensure all Network equipment is installed correctly and has sufficient backup.
  • Working with energy efficiency teams to reduce global carbon footprint.
  • Working with a team to develop standards across the company global footprint.
  • Working with Field Services to ensure Nodes and all outside network equipment have sufficient backup where required.
  • Working with procurement teams to try reduce spend and look to use buying power of company to lower vendor costs.
  • Reporting to senior management on all aspects of the M&E infrastructure.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • ITIL accredited is advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within a similar role
  • Experience of electrical back up systems AC and DC and power capacity
  • Experience of Datacentre cooling technologies
  • Experience with Budgeting and future planning
  • Experience engaging effectively with executive and senior level management
  • Experience and appreciation of working in a service and customer focused environment
  • Promotes a culture of Continuous Improvement and Innovation
  • Experience in Vendor Management
  • Knowledge of generators, security and monitoring systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
