Prior to engaging with INNOVATE, our client held all data on a number of outdated servers in one location while both the virtual server infrastructure and access to the main business application needed modernisation.

We reviewed the existing environment with a view to providing a more robust and resilient infrastructure for the head office and satellite sites. The project involved the migration of all servers to a co-located datacentre model in our own private cloud platform while all servers were updated to the Windows Server 2012 operating system to ensure that no servers remained on unsupported operating systems.

The infrastructure was refreshed and additional Citrix servers were added together with the creation of a new environment to allow for development and testing to be undertaken outside of the live environment.

We also redesigned the network infrastructure for the satellite sites to provide improved access for remote workers, who have a vital role to play in the day-to-day operations of the organisation. This involved upgrading both the connectivity and equipment on all remote sites and providing monitoring and support on all connections through INNOVATE’s Network Operations Centre.

Through this INNOVATE increased the productivity of the users based outside of head office and removed existing pain points for the client.

Through the development and implementation of an agreed disaster recovery plan INNOVATE also improved the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) for the organisation. The addition of a secondary disaster recovery site and the implementation of improved backup and business continuity strategy, with automated failover, protects the organisation from risk of lost productivity or lost data in the event of disaster.

This infrastructure has provided the framework upon which our client has been able to scale their organisation.
